Third-day slump

Today I realised how much I really don't like the christmas cards that I made this year. I made them way back in September, as I knew I wasn't going to have much time these last few weeks. No pics, suffice to say they're dull. And in no way up to my usual standard.

But I don't have time to make a whole new set - and this realisation actually made me feel quite down. Which is ridiculous, I know, there's far worse things going on in the world and in normal, everyday lives but perhaps it's the lack of daylight, or too much college work, or not enough sleep or something.

So I have thought long and hard about this, and I have come to a compromise. I will make (re-make) no more than 5, and send these to my favourite people (my mum, my partner, my daughter, my M- and F-IL and my best buddy). The rest are good-enough. I just have to keep telling myself that. Just because they aren't what I thought, doesn't mean they're not ok. Just.

Ok, so to cheer myself up, I'm going to post a pic of my darling daughter at her first christmas party today. She was a little confused as to whether to sing "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" or "Y.M.C.A"...

She also met Father Christmas for the first time: and yes, she did cry!

Oh bless, what a sweetie!

You have the right attitude about cards. Few people will ever appreciate them as much as we do anyway (I speak from bitter experience) so there's little point fretting over it. I'm sure they're still lovely anyway.

Don't worry - I think every crafter who reads your post understands exactly how you feel.
I'll keep a look out for any new projects you post as I've been really inspired by your work in the past.

Love the picture of your daughter. I am sure your cards will be okay. I know I appreciate any homemade cards I get.

I had a slump with jyc on day 2 (how desperate), I was unexpectedly traumatized by journaling about snow and then disappointed with the LO. I've decided the frustration is part of the story so I'm going to include my blog post (not yet written - hopefully later!) on a tag, hidden behind the page.
I figured, do I want to be perfect or real? Perfect obviously ;) but I can work with real.
Your cards will be fine x

Just to let you know I picked up my pizza box of loveliness from the PO this morning, it brightened up an otherwise dreary journey to work!

Other way 'round, I'm an American living in London. I don't think I'm a werewolf though.
Your daughter is a cutie! I'm hoping my 2 and some year old doesn't freak out about Santa... she didn't see him last year (flu), so it could be interesting.

Don't feel bad about your cards. Everyone has off projects, and you have to just chant "it's the thought that counts". Hey, at least they're done- I made a bunch of photo cards 1 year and never got around to sending them!
