Stitch and Craft Show 2009

So, this last weekend was my big moment, my chance to see my name in lights... well, on laminated card anyway. It was the Stitch and Craft Show 2009 at Olympia 2 in London, and the Best of British Scrapbooking 2008 winning layouts were to be exhibited. That'll be mine then! Well, along with five other far more fabulously talented people, Michelle Jackson-Mogford, Julie Kirk, Jo-Anne Cavanagh, Jane Knight and the overall winner, Kim Tomlinson.

Needless to say, I was very excited! I managed to arrange to meet up with a couple of the other winners who were also going, and we got together for a photo or two. I also got to meet the very lovely (and dinky) Rosie Waddicor, the editor of Scrapbook Inspirations - the magazine that ran the competition.

I went with all intentions of splurging on loads of stash, but managed to only buy knitting-related products. Not quite sure how that happened, but hey ho. All is good!

Right now though, I'm really wanting this wallpaper - it's fabulously decadent!

I also got to meet up with one of my "Pay It Forward" giftees, Tinkersdamn, and handed her a little cute something that I hope will be useful. The 6 spots are now filled, though I will be having a 1000 (!!!) visitor giveaway at some point very soon, so keep your eyes peeled. Suffice to say, I've had lots of fun fiddling with felt, and think I might have to make all sorts with the stuff.

So, tell me, is scrapbooking your only craft, or like me do you have crafty fingers in too many pies?

Wey heyyyy! Well done you :) Did they photo you for the mag? And yup, that wall paper is amazing!

Ta :)
No photos for the mag as far as I know - I think I've been in it enough - there was an unexpected quote from me the other month and I've got a couple more LOs coming up soon hopefully. That will suffice!
(Besides, I was having a "fat day" - am not loving the photos taken that day...)

I wish I had known, a friend of mine goes every year and I would have gone along too! Next time ... let me know!

PS I have very similar wallpaper in my study - but mine came from Homebase so I'm guessing probably not quite as decadent as theirs!

You were not having a fat day - photos look great! I went to Stitch & Craft last year but missed it this year - shame, I'd have loved to meet you. Sounds like you had a lovely day. How thrilling to see your LOs hanging on the wall with lots of famous names! Well done.

Hey Sarah - I bet my fat day topped yours though (thank you for cropping above my stomach!!) It was lovely to meet you and Michelle, and yes, Rosie was much dinkier than I imagined! I'm actually glad I can't knit or crochet, or there'd be no end to my craft projects on the go! My clay pixies have painted faces, hats and boots though...The word verification is 'drolo' bu tit looks like 'drob' the way its squished together. That somes up how I fell about my stomach at the moment!

Well, what I actually said was how you look so proud, grinning fit to burst and rightly so.
Then I put my address, not realising you don't moderate comments, eek, so have deleted it, and need your email. Oops silly me.

(Homer Simpson) WooHoo! I got mentioned! (/Homer) :)
The PIF bag(s) get used a lot! I shall have to think of something or other for my PIF.

Start saving for Ally Pally in September... SERIOUS stash. My brain melts every time I go and I buy 2x as much as I was planning. At least.

As for the pies, hmm. I scrap, I take photos for reasons other than scrapping, and I cook. I used to make weird statues, but I don't really have the space or time to weld anymore.
